Chicken Adobo in Coconut Milk (Adobo sa Gata)

Chicken adobo (Adobo sa Gata)

Chicken adobo is a very popular Filipino dish. Most people make it with vinegar. This recipe adds a little twist by adding coconut milk.

 

Ingredients Needed:

1 pc of medium size chicken cleaned (adobo cut)

1 head garlic chopped

2 pcs onion chopped

2 tbsp cooking oil

3 bay leaf or laurel

5 tbsp of brown sugar

5 tbsp of soy sauce

1 ½ cup of coconut milk

1 tbsp pepper powder

15 pcs hard boiled quail eggs

3 pcs potatoes quarter sliced

1 cup of water

Directions:

In a pan, heat the oil then sauté the garlic and onion. Put in the chicken and add water, simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

Add the coconut milk, bay leaf and potatoes. Add sugar and soy sauce. Boil for 10 to 15 minutes.

Add pepper to taste. Put in the eggs and remove from heat.

Serve your Adobo sa Gata (Chicken Adobo in Coconut Milk) and enjoy!
