How to Cook Embutido (Filipino Meat Loaf)

Ingredients Needed:

½ kilo of ground pork

1pc of medium carrots grated

½ cheese bars sliced in small pieces

1 medium red bell pepper sliced into small pieces

2 tbsp of garlic minced

3 pcs raw eggs beaten

2 pcs hard boiled quartered sliced

2 tbsp of white sugar

¼ cup of evaporated milk or fresh milk

3 pcs of hotdogs sliced 1 inch length

3 tbsp of bread crumbs or oats

Salt and ground pepper to taste

Aluminum foil to cover

Direction:

Put the ground pork  in a big bowl. Add the beaten eggs and the bread crumbs then mix well. Put in the carrots, onion, bell pepper, and sugar. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly. Pour in evaporated milk and mix well.

On a flat surface, place the aluminum foil. Put the ground meat mixture and flatten. Put in the boiled eggs, hotdogs and cheese at the middle of the mixture.

Form a cylinder shape by carefully rolling the foil and lock the edges of the foil.

In a steamer, place the ground meat roll and steam for 1 to 2 hours. Let it cook over a low heat. Let it cool. Place in a fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Slice into serving pieces. You can fry them too.
